The TV series was filmed in Esholt from 1976 to 1996, but filming moved to a purpose built set on the Harewood estate. The pub changed its name from The Commercial to The Woolpack during its time as a TV set. ​Scenes were once again filmed in Esholt, 19 years after they were last filmed, as part of the special episode following Ashley Thomas's dementia storyline in December 2016 in an attempt to show a skewed, unfamiliar view of the village as perceived by Ashley.

The Woolpack has ample space within 3 areas throughout the pub. To the rear of the pub is the converted barn which is now a dining area, strung with fairy lights & low lighting offers a warm & cosy atmosphere for delicious meals out with family & friends.

To the front of the pub is the main bar area boasting a wood burning stove ready to crackle away whilst you enjoy a tipple or two from our extensive drinks range including 3 casks on the handpull. 

On the opposite side of the main bar you will find the tap room with a roaring open fire where you can sit back & relax whilst enjoying a selection of board games or even a game of darts or two.

The Woolpack is a dog friendly pub both inside & out. In the summer months The Woolpack has plenty of outdoor seating to the front & rear of the building making it a great place to meet, drink, eat & enjoy the best of the Yorkshire sunshine.
